This has huge implications for the treatment and outcome of disease . This is the reason in my practice I place the greatest emphasis on preventative medicine.
If disease is caught in its early stages then in most instances it’s treatable and has much less associated morbidity . As a result I spend a great deal of time doing cancer screening , cardiac risk factor assessment , and genetic testing. With that information in hand I create an individualized plan of care for each patient tailored to preventing and dealing with the disease that poses the highest risks to them .
